Coaching Appointments
The Career Studio offers limited phone and video appointments for students who are unable to drop-in to the Studio in person.
Students can make these appointments on Handshake. Click here for instructions on how to make an appointment with the Career Studio.
In-Person Drop-in Mentoring
The Career Studio is closed during university holidays and breaks, including summer. Students needing career services during these times can schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor.
Drop-in mentoring is available Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, no appointment necessary. Just stop by the Career Studio and sign into the iPad to get started!
Preparing to Visit the Career Studio
Resumes
- It is easier for Career Peer Mentors to edit a resume that already has some content. Before visiting the Studio, put together a draft resume using one of the resume templates Career Connections offers.
- Have your resume draft readily available for a Career Peer Mentor. Either print out a copy or have it in your email drafts ready to send to the Career Peer Mentor when you arrive.
- Know that one time at the Career Studio is likely not enough. We highly recommend students visit us multiple times to perfect a resume. Students can also make an appointment with a Career Counselor for more in-depth critiques after visiting the Career Studio.
Mock Interviews
- Students do not need to bring anything to a mock interview; the Career Peer Mentors will provide a mock interview grading rubric to you.
About the career studio
The Career Studio is a service provided by the Offices of Career Connections. Staffed by highly-trained Career Peer Mentors, these undergraduate and graduate students represent multiple academic programs on campus. The Studio provides an open-concept environment where UA students and alumni can drop in for general career-related services without an appointment. Students can receive basic one-on-one and group advising/coaching for some of the Career Connections' most popular services, including resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, LinkedIn profile reviews, and more!
