 Scheduling Tips

Chat with a Consultant

Chat Consulting

Available for quick questions online, no appointment necessary. Go to our Chat page or to Razortrack to see which consultants are online. Sessions are approximately 20 minutes. If you need more time, your consultant can transfer you to an Online Tutoring session if time allows and demand for consultants is low.

 Chat Tips

Consultants will be online when they don't have students booked for online appointments, so they may be available outside of posted hours.

If the chat button isn't online at a posted time, it could be that the scheduled consultant has requested time off. Be sure to check the live schedule on Razortrack if the chat button isn't online at a time listed.

Preparing for Your Writing Consultation

  • The more time you spend revising and polishing your writing prior to the appointment, the more insight you will have into what questions to ask the consultant.
  • The more time you spend revising and polishing your writing prior to the appointment, the more insight you will have into what questions to ask the consultant.
  • Understand writing consultants will provide feedback and answer any questions you have, but they cannot edit your work. You are the ultimate owner of the paper.

About the Writing Studio

The Writing Studio provides one-on-one tutoring assistance to all students at any stage of the writing process. You can work with a Writing Studio consultant on course papers, scholarship essays, personal statements, and other application documents. In a writing tutorial, you will learn revision strategies for developing your academic and professional writing skills.

All Writing Studio consultants complete College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) Level I Certification training during their first year of tutoring, and we work hard to ensure that all consultants have the tools and resources to assist you to the best of their ability.

Writing Studio consultations are covered by your tuition, so there is no additional cost to attend a session!
